On Sunday 16th December, at Salter Royd Equestrian, Wilsden (in their big indoor arena), we held a charity event to support Manorlands. Junior riders from HODBG (Josh Lawn, Nathan Greenwood, Daisy-Ann Pedder, Georgia Anderson and Elle Anderson) rode a formation ride to christmas music, and then Josh and Nathan both performed solo rides (we need to apologise for the CD player playing up during this!), and Daisy and Elle rode a duet to "Santa got stuck up the chimney", whilst the others sung!. Afterwards, we had an interval in which many refreshments were on sale. Angela Pell won "Name the Teddy" and there were quite a few raffle and tombola winners, with Donna and Emma Torres winning the "Grouse Inn" £25 gift voucher!
Mounted Games took place following the interval with everyone winning 6 rosettes each!
I would just like to say a massive well done to all of our riders and our elves (Ella Narey, Lucy Judson, Emma Torres) for taking part and for been so co-operative with us even when we got stressed and forgot the music! I feel like i bossed you all about quite a lot so im sorry about that! Furthermore, thankyou so much to all the parents for been so patient with us, and bringing the children to practices in the freezing weather! Also, a massive thankyou is in order for everybody who helped out selling refreshments, running tombola etc(My mum, Rachel's mum, Mark, Tom, Donna, Freya)!
Last but not least, thankyou to everybody who turned out to watch us. It was extremely cold and we are very grateful for your continuing support!
From this event alone, and with the help of a £50 donation from bridleways, we have raised £345 for Manorlands Hospice. This is a fantastic acheivement so well done to you all!
Finally, thankyou very much to Pip Booth, firstly for sponsoring mounted games, and secondly for delivering 30 chairs kindly borrowed from Young Farmers!
MASSIVE thankyou to Vicky Walker for donating the use of her arena!
